Celebrate International Chess Day in the heart of Sligo!
Join Sligo Chess Club in
Queen Maeve Square on Sunday, 19th July, from 11am to 5pm for a free day of chess that's open to everyone, whether you've never played before or you've been playing for years.
Throughout the day you'll be able to:
-Play casual games with club members
-Learn the ancient Irish board game Brandubh
-Meet local chess enthusiasts
There are also three featured activities:
-12:00pm – Beginner Chess Workshop
-1:00pm – Simultaneous Exhibition against a Ukrainian Junior Champion
-3:00pm – Mini Blitz Tournament
