To help children prepare for starting school, libraries are offering free book bags filled with specially chosen books and helpful resources.

Available from 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟴𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 at Sligo Central Library and libraries nationwide.

Each bag includes:
Two books
A library card for children who don’t already have one
A My Little Library cardholder
Helpful tips and resources for parents

Bags are available in both Irish and English.

Part of the 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝟱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆, this initiative is a collaboration between public libraries, the Department of Rural and Community Development, and the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth.

We can’t wait to welcome all children starting primary school and their families to the library to collect their book bags and begin their library membership journey!
