From this school year, the Free Schoolbooks Scheme now covers all post-primary years, including Transition Year, 5th Year, and 6th Year.
That means families in schools under the Free Education Scheme will no longer have to buy textbooks, eBooks, or core classroom resources — they’re provided directly by the school.

Check with your school to confirm how books and materials are being distributed — each school manages the scheme locally.
