From 2025, every primary school in Ireland — DEIS and non-DEIS alike — will be part of the Hot School Meals Programme.

That means all children in participating schools will have access to a nutritious, hot lunch each day, prepared and delivered through a Department-approved supplier.

What parents need to know:
• Schools manage the application and roll-out locally — you’ll get details directly from your school once they’re set up.
• If your school is still waiting to join, keep an eye on school updates while procurement and kitchen arrangements are finalised.
• Meals follow approved nutritional standards to ensure balance, quality, and variety.
