Online workshops with AsIAm

Caitlin Cruise, Training manager with AsIAm, will present a range of webinars for family carers. All of these sessions will be recorded and the recording and any resources will be shared with all who register.
Session 1: Visual Supports
Date: Thursday 10th April
Time: 10am-10.45am
This short session will provide advice for carers on the use of visuals to support your loved one's communication. There will be tips and ideas on how to use visuals to enhance communicative opportunities and provide structure, consistency and predictability.
Session 2: Parenting Autistic Teens
Date: Monday 12th May
Time: 7pm-8.30pm
The teenage years come with their own unique challenges with the physical and hormonal changes that arise as well as new expectations around grooming, personal hygiene and finding a place in the social world. Join us for a session looking at how we can support our young person at this time.
Session 3: PDA
Date: Thursday 22nd May
Time: 10am-11.30am

Session 4: Gestalt Language Processing
Date: Wednesday 11th June
Time: 12.30pm-1.30pm
This webinar, taking place during National Carers Week will provide you with an understanding of what Gestalt Language Processing is and the different stages of development. If you are wondering if your child may be a Gestalt Language Processor or want to have a better understanding of how to support your child, you are welcome to join our session.
Session 5: Autism and Food
Date: Friday 13th June
Time: 10am-11.30am
This session during National Carers Week will explore the sensory, nutritional, and personal aspects of food and autism with an introduction to Pica and ARFID included.
