This March, a group of parents of people with Down syndrome and some friends are planning multiple dips into the cold Atlantic sea, to mark World Down Syndrome Day (21st March), culminating with one big splash on March 23rd. It's a celebration of uniqueness, symbolised by the triplication of the 21st chromosome, and a call to action for real inclusion. The chilly dips aim to warm hearts and support Down Syndrome Sligo in funding watersport and social activities this summer. Each set our own challenge and meet up in Rosses Point on Saturday 23rd March at 3.30pm to take the final plunge together. You are welcome to join in the sea or on the sand or simply by donating and sharing this online. What real inclusion looks like:- Inviting a new parent of a baby with Down syndrome for a chat over coffee.- Encouraging friendships that embrace all children, inviting them to play and celebrate together.- Recognising and greeting everyone in our community, from those who serve us coffee to our neighbours and peers
